Yesterday, Amy hosted a baby shower for the evacuees that now live across the street from us. It seemed like it was a real hit. There were about 6-7 women that showed up, and the "mom-to-be" got quite a few gifts. Looks like from the all the gifts that were given, that she's got a really good start on everything she needs for the baby. One of the ladies at the end of the shower even said "Hey, I've got this rocking chair that I was just going to get rid of. If you don't have one, do you want it?" And so then you see her husband walking down the street with a rocking chair over his head, bringing it to the shower.

They're a really great couple, and it's too bad that life dealt them this devastating blow. They are just thankful that they are all out safe and no loss of life in their family, but now they're having to deal with the reality of home insurance hassles, job relocations, etc. The "daddy-to-be" is pretty cool - he knows alot about basketball and football, so I think we'll always have something to talk about.
